End of the year… .................7/12/11

This has been an amazing year for me.

I released my second album on Blue Note Records entitled “When You Grow Up” and had the opportunity to tour in S. Korea, Singapore, Japan, U.S., Vancouver, Germany, Paris and London.  I made new artwork, photos, websites, and music videos with friends.  I wrote many of the songs on my record with friends.  And the people in my band are some of my dearest friends as well.

I recently emptied out a box in the attic where I found some old journals of mine from High School.  I turned to one page where I wrote “I just want to be able to take care of myself by writing music for a living.”  At the time it seemed like a pretty far-fetched goal that I knew, even at 17, might not ever happen for me.  But lo and behold, somehow it did!  And for now, so far so good.  I try remind myself everyday how freaking lucky I am to call this my “job”.  I tell myself that when I start looking at it like it is a job.

And so I want to end this year saying how grateful I am to all of YOU.  I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for being such a vital role in making this dream come true.  Without your support, none of this would be possible.  Yes, I’d still be making music, but no one would hear it. And lastly, I thank my friends.  Without them, I’d have spun out in multiple nervous breakdowns with all the ups and downs that are involved in this career.  I love you all.

I’m excited for all the projects I’m hoping to complete in 2012.  I promise you, I will always give you the stuff that I believe in.  No phony bologna!  :)

Happy Holidays to you all, and a happy, healthy new year ahead filled with new beginnings and love.

Love,

Priscilla Ahn
